Capturing those precious moments with often unwilling participants is not always as easy as cheese and please. It’s time to find an alternative to bribery and begging. Learn a few tricks from a pro in this photography workshop for moms with Phoenix’s top shot Hollye Schumacher. This local talent covers everything from decoding your camera features and bringing out the smiles to creative composition and natural and flash lighting. The key to a picture-perfect family life? Knowing how to draw out the pure emotion and that every giggle, fit, silly dance and warm hug is a memory in the making.
These are 6-hour workshops, including a live session with mini-models by this award-winning photographer of weddings, pets, portraits and children plus an on-site catered lunch for only $175.
You’ll be ready to aim and shoot away. Now, that’s good exposure.
Please bring as much of the following as possible
1) Your camera
Either a digital SLR or point-and-shoot
2) Your camera’s manual
If you don’t have a physical copy, check on-line
3) Three inspirational images that you love…
either cut from a magazine or print from on-line
4) Memory card with space for making images
5) Please be sure to provide us with your children’s ages
this allows us to cater our workshop to that specific age group
Where are we meeting? We try to change up the location each time based on the number of attendees and to keep it fresh. Once we determine the number of people attending, we’ll book a space. We typically host them in the central Phoenix or Scottsdale area. You will be notified of the location within 10 days of your workshop date.
What if I only have a point-and-shoot? The workshop is geared towards cameras that have a manual setting, however we can cater to people who have a point and shoot. About 20% of the presentation will be about the technical aspects …the rest is about light, creativity, and composition. Heck, you could even walk away with a better understanding even if you bring an iphone.
Will I be the only guy there? No! Even though we claim that it’s a workshop for mom’s, you may not be the only guy. We have had husbands come in the past, but if you happen to be the only one, even better!
